Wanna contribute? Cause we need you to.

I'm just one person, damn it! I can't possibly keep up two blogs, a print columns, regular features and an actual day job. SO, if you like your cars cool or cheap (better yet, if you like both) let me know and maybe you can help out on CCC! After all, the design is just too cool to delete the blog. Even though I never get around to posting and you're the only one who's read this. Just post a comment if you want a piece of this.

Hello Alex,

I would like to contribute to your blog because I'm very opinionated and I hate cars!!

And just in case you're wondering, I'm not one of those eco-friendly weirdoes’s who's concerned about the polluting effects of exhaust fumes. I hate cars because for some reason my boyfriend's brain seems to disengage whenever Top Gear is on and I can't seem to get a decent conversation out of him.

Some people might say I'm being a typical woman about this, but I don't see why I should be forced to watch Top Gear on a weekly basis, a show which in my view is about nothing more than boys playing with toys (in this case speedy cars)in eerie silence because he's too busy lusting after cars he can't possibly afford.

And by the way, I know there is also a woman presenter on Fifth gear, or whatever it's called (the other show I'm forced to watch) but let's face it we all know she's just eye candy.

Well that's my rant over for now.

Over and out.

You want to get hints on cool cheap cars? Well it all depends on what your opinion of cool and cheap is, but for me cool cheap cars are cars not old enough to be classics but still modern enough to function as an everyday driver and still offer basic fun when it comes to driving experience.

Take a closer look at "GTI" cars from the late 70's to the early 90's, like Porsche 924, Volvo 480 Turbo, Golf (VW Rabbit) MKI GTI, Peugeot 205 GTI, Fiat 130 TC Abarth, BMW 318is (E30), etc...

None of them with exhilerating straight line performance, but take a sound example out for a frisky drive on a winding road, and they will leave you with a big grin on your face.

With some DIY maintanance from cheap availiable parts, some basic mechanic tools¨, a Haynes workshop book and an active online community (wich most of these cars have), you can easily save one from a salvage yard candidate into a reliable daily driver that puts fun back into the drivers seat for very little money.

Ohh... just a little response to "opinionated lady":

Don't try to kill your boyfriends passion for cars, it will only force him away from you.

Boys needs to have something unrealistic to dream and reach for, and anyone getting in the way will eventually end up loosing his heart.

You see, there is a reason why boys are boys and girls are girls. trying to manipulate that fact always ends in dicaster. Just be happy he's not a football/soccer idiot.
